ICK MACH WELLE is a Berlin-based initiative that has been bringing together musicians with and without disabilities since 2018. What began as a workshop for a small group of people has evolved into a vibrant community of more than 20 people across more than 12 musical projects.
“SUPERBRAINS Vol. 2” is a compilation of 19 tracks showcasing the broad musical spectrum of ICK MACH WELLE: from ambient experiments to heavy bass music, from dub-infused house and techno to hip hop, reggae, punk, pop, and beyond. Just like the people behind it, the release is diverse, uncompromising, and full of character.
More than that, the compilation makes a clear statement: inclusion in culture is not an act of charity or patronizing support from the “strong” to the “weak.” It is a source of artistic diversity, cultural richness, and new perspectives — enriching culture and benefiting society as a whole.
As with “SUPERBRAINS Vol. 1”, released on KILLEKILL in 2023, the artwork for this release was created by Elzo Durt, Brussels’ renowned specialist in psychedelic art.
